Pittwater To Paradise Regatta

When it comes to Ocean Races, the Pittwater to Paradise regatta is highly regarded. Starting in Sydney, the short trip(relatively) across the Tasman sea to Auckland has been a highlight on the social sailing scene for some time now.

However, with the advent of Covid-19, the Pittwater to Paradise has come under threat. It is hoped that, with the 'travel bubble' easing conditions, that the event will continue it's attractive scheduling for the foreseeable future.

When Is The Next Race Scheduled?

One of the great things about being a Vaucluse window cleaner is that I often have some of the best views of Sydney harbour! This is just as well because, the race will begin on January 29 2022 in this very same location! This is around 238 days from now(at time of writing).

The race, as mentioned, will traverse the Tasman Sea until arrival in Auckland Harbour.

The hosting Yacht clubs for the race are:

  • The Royal Prince Albert Yacht Club(RPAYC) in Sydney, and
  • the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron(RNZYS)

Want To Know More, Including How To Enter?

Whilst it is good to be a spectator, either at the beginning or the end of the event, in their respective harbours, you may wish to have a greater involvement, and then you wonder: How can I enter the race?

To do more, such as enter, contact the following:

  • sailing@rpayc.com.au and for supporting sponsorship opportunities
  •  marketing@rpayc.com.au

This year saw enormous interest in the event, and, according to the official website:

“2021 is a massive year for us at the RNZYS and will certainly go down as the biggest year in our history. It is fantastic to be able to get the Sydney to Auckland Yacht Race back on the sailing calendar and we are already incredibly impressed with the high calibre of yachts that have expressed their interest.”

Vice Commodore RNZYS - Aaron Young
